Cost & Credits

What each generation, search, and post actually costs, and how the credit balance works.

Pegacraft runs on a prepaid credit balance (1 credit equals $1) funded by whoever operates your instance. The Cost & Credits page shows the current balance, a top-up form, and a running summary of spend broken down by kind.

What costs money

Three kinds of events are metered:

  • llm: every call to the model that drafts a post or a reply.
  • web_search: live-news lookups for topics flagged to use them.
  • platform_post: the act of posting itself, where the platform charges for it.

Every one of these is logged as a cost event with its own dollar amount, so the raw event table at the bottom of the page is a real, itemized ledger, not an estimate.

The budget gate

Before any paid call goes out, Pegacraft checks that the balance is above a small floor. If it isn't, the call is refused before it happens rather than after: you don't get charged for a generation that fails partway through because the balance ran out mid-call.

Topping up

Enter an amount and press Top up. This adds directly to the balance; there's no separate invoicing step in the console itself.
